Collaborating Through the Years

Some photo sessions are planned around a specific event. Others come from a shared interest in creating something new. My work with Hannah falls into the second category.

Hannah is someone like me, one who found photography to be a wonderful creative outlet. She and I have had the chance to collaborate through the years on several shoots. Each time we worked together to piece together something unique. The starting point is usually the same. One of us brings an idea, and from there we begin to shape and mold and experiment.

Sometimes that means talking through a concept. Other times we start with a location we want to explore or an outfit that sets the tone. From there we build out the rest. We think about how the environment might interact with the subject, what kind of mood we want to capture and how details will work together in the frame. "Hey. I found a new trail" or "Hey. I like this painting" is sometimes all it takes to get us going.

Over time, these sessions have become a way for us both to experiment. They give us room to try different approaches without the pressure of a formal assignment. Some shoots lean toward portrait work, while others focus more on style and environment. The variety has helped us both grow creatively.

The images in this post come from several of these sessions across different years. Together they show that a creative partnership can develop over time. Each shoot reflects a shared willingness to explore ideas and see where they lead.

I am grateful for collaborators like Hannah who bring curiosity and creativity into the process. If you'd like to experiment together, send me a message through my contact below and let's play!

I hope you enjoy this small collection from our sessions together.
