Chicago, IL
Isaac and Joan’s engagement session took place across two classic Chicago locations that offered contrast while keeping the focus on their connection. We split the session between the Garfield Park Conservatory and the Art Institute of Chicago, allowing for a mix of natural and architectural settings.
Garfield Park Conservatory
We began the session at Garfield Park Conservatory, where the greenery and filtered light create a calm and contained environment. This location works well for couples who want engagement photos that feel relaxed and natural. The softer light and layered textures helped create images with depth while still keeping attention on Isaac and Joan. The conservatory also allowed for easy movement and interaction, which kept the session comfortable and unforced.
The Art Institute of Chicago
For the second half of the session, we moved to the Art Institute of Chicago. The architecture, open walkways, and clean lines offer a timeless backdrop that contrasts well with the conservatory. This setting is ideal for portraits that feel composed and classic without being overly formal.
A Balanced Session
Using both locations gave the session variety while maintaining cohesion. The pairing of natural textures and architectural structure created a gallery that reflects different sides of the same story.
